About Us

Dr. Michael Maddox

Dr. Michael Maddox has been married to debi, a lifelong oil painter, since May 23, 1970. debi’s art has been featured in fine art gallery exhibitions, and on television programs including HGTV’s Surreal Estate program.   During their entire lives, they have been wholly immersed in the arts and entertainment realm, utilizing the various aspects of the fine arts to enrich the lives of others.

They have authored four books with a fifth soon to be published.

Maddox has been actively involved in the arts for over five decades. He is best described as an arts promoter, event organizer, author, and public speaker, with extensive experience in media relations. He has been interviewed on scores of television and radio programs, including network shows.

Michael also produced and hosted a popular FM radio show on Salem Broadcasting featuring interviews with celebrated artists such as John Tesh, Olivia Newton-John, Don Brewer (Grand Funk Railroad), Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake, & Palmer), Dan Peek (America), Dallas Jenkins (The Chosen), and many others.

Michael served as an International Events Coordinator for over 17 years. He organized and promoted nondenominational evangelistic and missionary campaigns, and music & arts events, at major venues throughout the United States and foreign countries. Such venues included: New York City’s Madison Square Garden; the grounds of the Washington Monument in Washington, DC; and Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.

Maddox was presented with a Telly Award as Executive Producer of a 30-minute television special, which was broadcast in major markets throughout the U.S. The TV program focused on Michael and debi’s activities from 1992 to 2005 at their 126-acre, Project Peace on Earth headquarters in East Texas. Their property served as an artists’ retreat and counseling center, and was the site for numerous music and art festivals.

In 2008, Michael joined the Board of Directors for the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake. He became the Executive Director of that facility in 2010. Since then, Maddox has orchestrated the growth of the TLCA, working with board members to transform the TLCA from a small town arts and crafts center to a bona fide fine arts gallery and first-class concert destination.

In October of 2014, the Pikes Peak Arts Council presented Maddox with the Arts Champion of the Year Award. The Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts was presented with the Colorado Springs Gazette “Best of the Springs 2018” award in the category of art and entertainment. The TLCA is regularly a finalist for the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce's Nonprofit of the Year Award. Dr. Maddox has for many years been a finalist for the Chamber's Business Person of the Year Award.

Michael also serves as the Rocky Mountain Regional Director for Logos Global Network, which is comprised of churches and ministries throughout the world.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for Youth With a Mission Santa Fe with founder Karen Lafferty.  Maddox for several years was Mayor Pro Tem for the Town of Palmer Lake and the Water Commissioner.  In 2012, Michael was appointed by both the Colorado Springs City Council and the El Paso County Board of Trustees to serve for two years as the Director of Small Municipalities on the Fountain Creek Watershed, Flood Control and Greenway District Board.

What Musicians Say

  •  John Schneider, Country Music & TV/Film Star: “To whom it may concern. Perhaps the biggest surprise in the beauty of what is Colorado is the amazing Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake. The venue was stellar, hosts Michael & debi Maddox nothing short of delightful, and the town from its beautiful views to its wonderful lake was a delightful surprise at every turn. My bride and I would recommend it to any performer we know as well as any audience member.

  • Richie Furay, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; Buffalo Springfield; Poco; Hillman, Souther, Furay Band:  “I have played the Tri-Lakes Center For The Arts three times. There are so many things I could say about Michael, his wife debi, and the Tri-Lakes crew but the fact that I returned for a third time should say enough. Everything is First Class. I've been there with a full band and as an acoustic trio; the room's dynamics accommodate whatever sound the guest brings. There's a special intimacy that comes with this venue; the lighting and renovated sound system are state of the art. If you like a small, intimate concert experience, you know - up close and personal - well, it’s right there in Palmer Lake and the Tri-Lakes Center For the Arts has exactly what you’re looking for.”

  • Phil Keaggy, Legendary Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter, Recorded over 70 Albums: “I have worked with Michael Maddox five different times when he promoted and hosted me as an artist at Tri-Lakes Center For The Arts near Colorado Springs, CO. His venue, sound and lights were quite professional and he gathered a very welcoming audience. He and his wife were extremely hospitable as well! I’m happy to have worked with Michael.”

  • Paul Overstreet, 2-Time Grammy Winner for Best Country Songs of the Year (“Forever, Ever, & Amen” for Randy Travis and “Love Can Build a Bridge” for the Judd’s), Country Music Artist: "Michael, I wasn't sure what to expect when I headed to CO. I just want to say it was a great experience meeting you and getting to know a little about you and your wonderful, beautiful, and talented family. I loved playing at your venue as I know everyone that has played there feels the same. I highly recommend it.”

  • Suzy Bogguss, Country Music Star, 5-Time Grammy Nominee & Grammy Winner: “I am very fortunate to have worked with Dr. Michael Maddox at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake, CO. Michael is a very welcoming host as well as an extremely professional and capable promoter. It’s always a pleasure to discover a gem like the TLCA, and even more so when the promoter makes the show easy and fun. It’s particularly gratifying to work with promoters who take such a personal interest in their audience, and who follow through to sell the tickets! I look forward to working with Michael again. To others considering working at the TLCA, or with Michael at any other venue, I would give my strongest endorsement.”

A Few Recommendations

  • Paul Dilena, Host of "Ordinary People" Program, KVTT Radio, Dallas, TX; Co-founder with David Wilkerson of Teen Challenge in NYC; 16 Years Chaplain, Police Department, Fort Worth, TX "Michael and debi have no aspirations to become famous or rich; they are committed to helping others. Mike has been a guest on our two-hour radio interview program many (14) times, and he has helped many listeners. Mike is a very moral person, and he is honest, industrious, trustworthy, and compassionate."

  • Dr. Charles Travis, President, Logos University, Jacksonville, FL "I wish to take this opportunity to add my personal recommendation for my good friend, Dr. Maddox. I have known Michael for several years as a student, friend and fellow clergy. In addition he is an astute business person and has worked for several very large religious and humanitarian organizations in marketing and public relations. His character and personal life has always been stellar."

  • Dr. R.W. Schambach, Schambach Ministries, Tyler, TX "Michael Maddox worked for my ministry for over nine years as a Crusade Director in setting up evangelistic meetings and working with pastors. Michael loves the Lord, and he is a soul winner."

  •  Dan Peek, Singer/Songwriter (America - Classic Rock Group) "What intrigued me, and led me to do the (radio) interview with Dr. Michael, was his down-home style of talking one-on-one. In fact, he reminds me of a soul-winning Will Rogers character.”

  • D. Scott Myers, Executive VP of Entertainment, The TeshMedia Group & John Tesh Productions "I must say that working with Maddox Consulting has been an absolute pleasure. From our initial phone call at the beginning of the process, thru the very end, and clean-up post show, you and your team were on top of everything, and when we ran into a bump or two in the road, you jumped out ahead and smoothed everything out!  You truly helped make everything go smoothly, and turned the John Tesh concert into a resounding success.  THANK YOU!"

  •   Nikki McDonald, Former 2-Term Mayor, Palmer Lake, CO: “I have known Dr. Maddox for several years. He served as Mayor Pro Tem for me for a few years. I have found that one of Michael’s most valuable qualities was to mitigate conflicts, of which there were many. He has the ability to listen to both sides of an issue, and to subsequently get a resolution by reducing the animosity. In a word, I would say that he has a unique gift of getting opposing sides to see each other’s point of view. I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to call Michael a trusted and respected friend.”
